Who Can Have GentleLASE?
The Candela GentleLASE is an Alexandrite Laser and it is the GOLD standard of Hair Removal for paler skin types. It works best on darker hair colours, the darker the hairs the better! No laser will work on white, grey or pale blonde hairs, as there is insufficient colour pigment in the hairs, For these hair types electrolysis is the only long term option.
What Kind Of Results Can I Expect?
No one can claim that Laser Hair Removal is permanent (for the rest of your life) it will significantly reduce the numbers of hairs growing and the results will last for a long time (for years)
On average 6 treatments are recommended for best results, however some people may require more, especially those with an underlying hormonal problem.
Results can then be maintained, as and when required, everyone is different.
Consultation, Patch Test & Treatment
If you are interested in reducing unwanted hair, please book an appointment with one of our GentleLASE Therapists. Your therapist will discuss with you the treatment procedure and results expected. They will then do a full consultation to assess your suitability for treatment. If everything is in order they will then get you to consent to a patch test being carried out on the area to be treated, This is to see how your skin reacts to the laser before we carry out a full treatment on you, a week later.

Laser Hair Removal Treatments and Time Between Sessions?
Different body areas have different hair growth cycles and your laser treatments should be scheduled for when the hair is in the growth phase.
We recommend treatment every 4-6 weeks for facial areas, 6-8 weeks for underarms, bikini, chest/back areas and 8-12 weeks for legs and arms.

Maintenance
Following a course of treatment, results can then be maintained, as and when required, everyone is different.
We offer a 10% discount on subsequent treatment courses on the same area.
Treatment Notes
Electrolysis, waxing, plucking and hair removal creams must be discontinued for 6 weeks before treatment and the hairs must be shaved the day before treatment.
No suntan or fake tan can be present on the skin
No deodorants or perfumes to be applied to treatment area for 24 hours before treatment
We can’t treat pregnant women.
We can treat 16 & 17 years olds with written parental consent.
Avoid all sun exposure for 6 weeks before or after laser and use an SPF 50 post laser.
Downtime
The skin will be red, tender and puffy immediately after treatment which usually will settle within a few hours.
